Thus the question is was he a pretend Catholic in order to win favor over Italy? was he an agent of Italy? or working for American War Profiteer's (unknowingly)? Or perhaps a man with extraordinary abilities to influence people (like a sith). Whatever the reason I'm sure the Catholic church is thankful for forgiveness. Clever move by Mussolini, to make the Vatican a distinct country thus making it impossible for the Allies to raid the Vatican and gain access to it's Secret Archives.

Some proclaim that evolution and progression doesn't exist. Well the evidence is all around, the simple always progresses towards the goal of higher levels of complexity and versatility. Just like the Church once believed that the Earth was the centre of the galaxy, eventually it is going to have to except the fact that most living organisms grow, over time, into more advanced organism's. Though this doesn't mean that we should abandon the ideals of love and compassion, and give into infidelity, but rather incorporate the best aspects of religion into our modern societies.
